D.A.V.E THE DRUMMER RETURNS TO NEWCASTLE
The "Hardest working man in techno" D.A.V.E. the Drummer (AKA Henry Cullen) has proved to be very important influence on the global techno scene over the last ten years, taking his unique sound to many different countries. A long standing member of the “The Stay Up Forever Collective” and a regular recording artist on many of the collectives' labels he also runs his own labels Apex and Hydraulix which are managed by the SUF collective. But D.A.V.E hasn't been seen in Newcastle for the last 2 years - You might remember him rocking the dancefloors at Freaky Dancing some time ago.... Coded Music

CAUSE & EFFECT RADIO STARTS FEB 20TH
Following the success of the one-off radio show back in December, C&E have secured a weekly show that will broadcast every Friday from 8pm til 10pm and it kicks off on February 20th. Expect the high octane, Cause & Effect sound, interspersed with sets of various other styles of dance music from Cause & Effect residents and a selection of guest DJs. Initially the show will only be available to stream online from tynedalefm.org but will be broadcasting on air on 87.7FM for periods during the year while Tynedale FM have their temporary radio licence. They also hope to aquire a full, five year broadcasting licence towards the end of 2009. (POSTED 09/02/09)

Coded Music

CODED MUSIC LAUNCH PARTY
To help raise awareness of the brand new Newcastle drum & bass label 'Coded Music', Cause & Effect have teamed up with Curves. C&E will be stamping their trademark high energy / acid sound on room two at Curves at the Cosmic Ballroom this December, while the curves residents will be supporting Phobia (Coded Music / Turbulence) in the main room for a night of drum & bass, beats & breaks. Dynamic Intervention

DYNAMIC INTERVENTION
Bristol’s Mik Cree, AKA Dynamic Intervention has touched just about every label in the hard house scene. His impressive production and remix discography stretches into the 100’s and covers releases on Tidy Trax, Vicious Circle, Tripoli, and Pure NRG, to name a few. His pioneering label ‘DIP Records’ burned brightly between 1998 and 2004 and his super-charged DJ sets have rocked venues all across the UK and across the world as far as Adelaide, Australia. Mik’s production work and his label ‘DIP’ have been a massive influence on the sound of Cause & Effect and its resident DJs since its formative years in the early ‘00s. His sound has been described as “Hard House meets NRG, meets Acid Trance” and represents the underground side of the hard dance scene – This November, expect tough but uplifting and very energetic hard house, layered with phat lead riffs and screaming acid lines. Paul Maddox

PAUL MADDOX HEADLINING THIS OCTOBER
Headlining at Cause & Effect this October will be Paul Maddox with his first appearance in Newcastle in a long long time. Not only is Paul one of the most inventive and prolific producers on the hard dance scene, behind the scenes he is also a much sought after dance music engineer, having helped many of the big names in hard house bring their music to the masses. Ben Stevens

BEN STEVENS RETURNS TO CAUSE & EFFECT
A pivotal figure behind Vicious Circle Recordings and ever-rising star on the hard house scene, Ben Stevens has been invited back to play at Cause & Effect after a storming set in June last year. Aswell as being a much sought after, technically sophisticated DJ, Ben has an impressive production and remix discography with work on most of the major hard dance labels including Tripoli Trax, Hardtimez, Vicious Circle and his own label, Fireball Recordings. DJ Controlled Weirdness

THE DEAD SILENCE SYNDICATE'S DJ CONTROLLED WEIRDNESS HITS NEWCASTLE FOR THE FIRST TIME
Friday, August 29th will be DJ Controlled Weirdness's first adventure to the Toon. He is a key player in the South London electro bass contingent and an ambassador for the sound. With tunes out on Control Tower, Dirty Needles and Unearthly records he has been involved in just about every electronic dance music scene since the mid-1980s. From US raves to Dead by Dawn squat parties in Brixton. This August he'll be rinsing out a non-genre specific set including rough ravey electro, dubstep, funked up breaks and dirty bass. CAUSE AND EFFECT STARTS NEW RESIDENCY AT THE COOPERAGE
This July, Newcastle's longest running hard dance night returns with the first in a series of summer parties at the Cooperage with special Guest DJ's Eufex and Bass Generator... Sean Stanley, aka Eufex (pictured) is an old favourite, having played at a couple of earlier Cause & Effect parties. His intelligent take on the hard dance genre has also graced just about every major label in the scene including Vicious Circle, Nukleuz and his own Ravage Records. The hardcore mashup in room 2 will be headlined by Bass Generator. The northeast legend comes to Cause & Effect with with a set of Rezerection classics from the early nineties. (POSTED 15/06/08)

LATE NIGHT FISHING RADIO
Newcastle's web radio posse, Late Night Fishing have been doing a monthly podcast for over a year now. Each show is a two hour broadcast of phat tunes, diverse beats and morally eclectic geordie patter. More recently the boys have aquired a weekly show on NE1FM 102.5 where they'll be doing their thing live on the airwaves around Newcastle and Gateshead from 5 til 7 every Saturday afternoon, or if you live further a-field, you can stream the show live at ne1fm.com .
